Emily grew up in Kentucky and attended the University of Louisville. She received her BM in Cello Performance, studying with Paul York, and completed a minor in creative writing.
Since 2017, Emily has worked with cellists of all ages and backgrounds. Currently, she teaches fifth grade strings and middle school orchestra in the Madison Metropolitan School District, and maintains a private cello studio on Madison's south side. She has also played in the cello section of the La Crosse Symphony, Dubuque Symphony, and Madison Symphony Orchestra.

I offer weekly and twice-weekly lessons to students ages 6+. Lessons are scheduled at a regular time each week.
-
I teach 30, 45, and 60 minute lessons. 30 minute lessons are great for beginners, but most students are ready for 45 minute lessons fairly quickly.
Lessons are taught in-person at my home.
Students must commit to consistent practicing at home. Additionally, students are expected to participate in our winter and spring studio recitals.
